New Single "K432 - Born Anew" is now officially released. "Autonomy" album has been re-mastered & now available on Bandcamp. + other message.
Message from Jeff, May 2024.
Greetings again!
First thing first: The new single “K432 - Born Anew” is now officially released across all streaming platforms. So if you regularly tune in to Spotify or any other mainstream platforms, you can start adding the song to your playlist(s) and listen to it. On Bandcamp, I decided to postpone the availability until July when the album title for this K432 project is announced and more songs are available. Have you watched the music video yet? Below is the one. The footage was taken in Japan back in April, and the location for the first scene is Otani Cemetery in Kyoto. That place has a majestic atmosphere and peaceful, tranquil feel. It was a great experience walking through that cemetery. The energy was felt much better than hanging out on social-media. Tourists tend to avoid places like cemeteries (unless they are misfits of society, like myself), so it wasn't packed with people posing for selfies. I've been doing cemetery walks in places I’ve visited throughout the world, and this particular place in Kyoto was one of the highlights because it doesn't have that sense of traumatic/negative energy (sometimes ghostly) being felt.
The remastering of 2012 album “Autonomy” is now also finished. It was freshly mastered from the final mix audio files using mid/side (M/S) processing as well as being re-tuned to 432 Hz using a conventional pitch-shifting by cents (intervals) in a natural way. Re-tuning naturally to 432 Hz (a slightly lower pitch) from the original 440 Hz means the tempo has become a little bit slower, about 98% of the original, making the overall duration/running-time to be longer. You can download it now on Bandcamp. The music video for “Rare Earth Elements” has also been updated and re-posted on YouTube. Check it out (see below). Watch for June 2024 release across digital streaming platforms, first time for that album.
My decision to re-tune my instruments to 432 Hz for the base note’s (A4) frequency, and away from the ISO 16 “world's standard tuning” of 440 Hz, is not based on gimmick or trend. It’s (still) not a popular decision among musicians and songwriters, but as an anarchist I feel that this is one way of taking my part in order for humanity to become free from the claws of the rulers of the world. It was a rather tough decision to make, and it took me more than two years to contemplate (see March 2024 message for background story). There’s good news and bad news: The good news is that I’ve found a reliable pitch-shifter plugin that can re-tune a single instrument to desired frequency reference without altering the sound character too much. In that case, I don’t need to abandon my favourite soft-synthesizers like choir simulation and orchestral strings that were used quite often in Kekal just because they are firmly set to 440 Hz. That plugin is SoundShifter by Waves Audio. I’m using this to micro-shift outputs of soft-synths to 432 Hz tuning, and it works pretty well. For re-mastering, I use another plugin that is more suitable for re-tuning the entire mix.
Now the bad news: I found out that social media tend to suppress any posts when mentioning the reasons of re-tuning from 440 Hz to 432 Hz, so these posts didn't quite reach the followers. Same thing with the YouTube video of K432 - Born Anew. I monitor that video almost everyday out of curiosity, and many times (more than 5 times now) number of views is dropped and/or stuck for days. It also happened to posts on Facebook and Instagram as well. You know, post suppression and “shadow ban” like that is expected when you try to address any subject matter bluntly that is against the “designated societal norms” imposed by those people at the top (puppets/servants of the rulers of the world). They are very afraid that especially right now with the new knowledge that comes from recent collective awakening, people at the grassroots level may stop to become like sheep walking blindfolded to the slaughterhouse. Well, at least Substack doesn't seem to suppress that type of message, so far, which is a good thing. Instagram is almost like a joke, and I've noticed that even since before the days of “lockdown” they have silenced many voices and censored thousands of posts while suppressed another thousands (if not millions) through “independent fact-checkers” bot accounts. In the case of Kekal, aside from occasionally removing posts they always suppress the number of views for IG Stories and posts every time they found any content that they don't like, including reasons to re-tune from 440 Hz to 432 Hz. Views just dropped to less than half of other “non-offensive” stories when posted, so the story didn't quite reach the audience. Same thing with Facebook, it seems to also become an AI bot-infested platform now, with fake bot users (very noticeable) running around, most likely so that when people pay them to “boost the post” these bots can all jump to “like” that post and inflate the number of likes. These bots can also post basic comments with emoji or single-line praise or agreement type of bullshit, as well as doing basic trolling. The pattern is noticeable because of the similarities in the way they operate across the platforms, and combined with post suppression and censorship, these are part of the greater scheme of controlling public perceptions to a certain degree.
The music of Kekal has always been some form of anarchist statement; a by-product of resistance against agreement and conformity to the “kind of world” envisioned by the rulers of the world.
In my opinion, if you want to stay tuned to what Kekal is doing, it's best to subscribe to both our Substack and Bandcamp. Bandcamp is also a healthier alternative to mainstream streaming platforms like Spotify, etc. because once again, you can own your music. By purchasing a digital download on Bandcamp, you own that file and keep as long as you want and to listen offline, while artists also get a good percentage from the sales. That means you contribute to help artists financially. Platforms like Spotify uses all the music submitted to them to feed their “AI overlord” to learn writing music. This is the reason if you have access to Spotify for Artists, every time you pitch a song to any official playlist they would ask for the mood of the song. Why? This is the area where AI is lacking, because they don’t have real emotions. They just use clues inputted by the artists or representatives to understand moods related to the music in a mechanical way, like comparing certain chords or chord progressions to the moods. Right now, certain artists already use AI to write their music, as well as doing other stuffs from writing the lyrics, audio mastering, doing artwork for cover, etc. Many so-called books that are published nowadays have been written by AI too. Transhumanism (merging human with AI) is actually their endgame, to remove humanity’s soul-driven characteristics (creativity, conscience, empathy, emotions, etc.) from being fully functioning within human species, and to keep humanity enslaved while ignorantly being integrated into such system. People just don't realize as such because we are being distracted with some surface issues and spectacles, purposely created as distractions as we are being stabbed on the back. We, as humanity, is being tricked into feeding AI our own power and energy almost every day. Earlier this year, myself and other Kekal co-contributor Levi did an interview for a printed publication, discussing about AI as the subject matter. We did our best to let people know that AI is not what many people think it is. It is far more dangerous if we keep giving it our consent to make creative decisions.
Back to my decision to do an acoustic guitar music and record songs in a more organic way; aside from getting used to 432 Hz tuning and feel the effect of it in the body, it is also about making a statement that in the times where the rulers want people to become more and more inorganic and fake/artificial with their pro-AI (and eat the bugs) campaigns, Kekal will do the opposite way by pursuing authenticity in doing what we love whether it’s music, artwork, literature, or photography. The music of Kekal has always been some form of anarchist statement; a by-product of resistance against agreement and conformity to the “kind of world” envisioned by the rulers of the world. Human is supposed to be free. We are here to create our own destiny that benefits the greater whole, and no such rulers and authorities should get in the way to keep us from reaching that goal. We all have free will, so it’s just a matter of choosing which path.
To close this month's message, I'd like to mention again about two “behind-the-lyrics” written documents related to Kekal’s 2 latest albums:
Ask. Seek. Knock.
This was written in 2020 (and updated in early 2022), discussing the lyrics of “Quantum Resolution” album in a Q&A-type formatRecalibrating Destiny
Written in 2022 as the discourse explaining the lyrics of “Envisaged” album
These are all mobile-friendly PDF eBook documents with more than 100 pages each. If you feel the nudge into reading these two documents, feel free to do so by clicking the red buttons below (use web browser instead of using IG or FB mobile apps, so links won’t get blocked). They are all downloadable. Please note that the content may be triggering to some of the readers.
Thank you. Feel free to share this message to your friends as you see fit.
